You can now become a member of Dem Corps! Pledging to grow our organization by raising $35 or more in donations (this could be a personal contribution from you) makes you a member of Dem Corps.
Beyond the pride that comes from helping your community, member benefits include an opportunity to purchase home heating oil, propane or K-1 this year at group discounted prices, subject to certain restrictions, limitations, and availability.
Oil prices are extremely volatile but there is still a Dem Corps discount...Plans are:
1) pre-fixed prepay...pay all at once but get lowest price
2) Combo budget...1/3 down and rest on 10 or 11 equal monthly payments...usually about 5 cents/gal higher than #1
3) Budget...0 down and all on 10-11 equal monthly payments...usually about 15 cents/gal more than #1 but you are using the dealer's money for almost a year (finance charge...if you will)
Also...downside protection can be added to any plan (if you think prices may come down)
Once you join, we will email you the forms and you can call the dealer, identify yourself as a Dem Corps member and ask what the prices are that day with the Dem Corps Discount....then you can fill out your contract and send it in with a check!

Our CFL Project is well under way! The aim of the project is to distribute as many compact fluorescent lamps (CFL's) throughout Maine as possible, and doing our small part in the fight against high energy costs, pollution, and global warming. Did you know that replacing a single traditional bulb with a CFL will keep a half-ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere over the life of the bulb?
Phase 1 of the CFL Project is distributing CFL's though a special fundraising activity where we will be asking for a $5 donation for a 20 or 25 watt CFL which will save the donor $44 or $75 in energy costs over its lifetime. With each $5 raised we will replace our stock and purchase three more CFL's to give to low-income families along with energy conservation tips during Phase 2. Dem Corps is now offering an internship to a student that shares the values of the Democratic Party and wishes to be a part of a growing organization that returns us to the roots of the party - community service and empowerment.
